The Book of Mormon Biography and Show Details

Created by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone, The Book of Mormon follows two young missionaries whose assignment in Uganda challenges their expectations. The musical balances sharp, irreverent humor with a story about friendship, belief and personal change. It premiered on Broadway in 2011 and won nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

The Forrest Theatre engagement is part of The Book of Mormon North American Tour, which has brought the production to audiences across the continent since 2012. Its popular numbers include “Hello!,” “Turn It Off” and “I Believe.” The original Broadway cast recording reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and won the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

The musical's energetic songs, colorful staging and comic performances have helped make it a celebrated modern Broadway hit. The production typically runs about two hours and 30 minutes, including one intermission. It features adult language and mature themes and is recommended for ages 17 and older. Philadelphia's Forrest Theatre provides a downtown setting for this run's final date.

Venue and Seating Information

Forrest Theatre is a historic Philadelphia venue, and its traditional theatre layout offers different ways to experience the production. Orchestra seats place audiences close to the performers and stage details, while elevated seating can provide a broader view of the choreography and set. Check the seating map for the specific sightlines and availability of individual seats before booking.

For a musical with ensemble scenes and detailed staging, consider balancing proximity with a clear view of the full stage. Accessible seating is available; contact the venue directly for current arrangements and performance-specific accessibility services.

Parking Information

Parking availability and rates can change, so confirm current details before travelling. Consider these options when planning your visit:

• Look for public garages and paid lots in the area surrounding Forrest Theatre; compare walking distance and event-day rates.
• Use street parking only where permitted, and check posted time limits, meter rules and restrictions carefully.

Arriving early can allow extra time to park and reach your seat before the performance. Avoid relying on an unverified rate or assuming curbside spaces will be available near showtime.
